Some
New PCYC Staff Members You May Meet
I’d like to introduce you
to several new staff people at PCYC whose jobs bring them into the
public eye. We thought
it would be good for you to meet them in the press so you can greet
them with a little background information when you meet them in
person.
Please
welcome to PCYC:
Rob:
Have you been greeted on the phone or upon entering PCYC this year
by a mellow voice and very friendly new staff person?
That’s Rob Griffin,
PCYC’s new Customer Service Coordinator.
Rob joined our staff in the fall, and spends his mornings at
the front desk greeting students and guests to our building, and
answering our phones. His
afternoons are spent as a Youth Development Specialist in the PCYC
After School Enrichment Program, with special assignment as teacher
with the Kindergarten and 1st graders.
And do they love Mr. Rob!
Crystal
: Anyone connected with
the
PCYC
Alternative School
will soon have the pleasure of meeting Crystal
Ruiz, our new school office manager.
Crystal
handles school applications and intake sessions, does much of the
record-keeping, and has an important role in our contacts with
Minneapolis Public Schools.
Crystal
is originally from
Colorado
, having developed her excellent administrative skills at the
University of Colorado-Denver as office coordinator of the Biology
Department, and through her most recent job with the American Red
Cross Twin Cities Area Chapter.
Karl:
The new job of Bringing Up the Lights at the Capri Theater is now in
the highly competent hands of our new staffer
Karl Reichert
. Goal Three of PCYC’s
new Strategic Plan – Lead the Capri Theater Renaissance – states
that “PCYC will “bring up the lights” on year-round arts
programming that inspires young people, develops their skills,
builds community and draws thousands of youth and adults to a
top-notch North Minneapolis performance venue on West Broadway.
Karl’s job is to make all this happen!
He brings considerable arts and theater management skills to
PCYC, having been ____ at the Minnesota Orchestra, past chair of the
Minneapolis Mosaic festival, and current Chair of the Illusion
Theater Board.
Andrea:
Many volunteers from PCYC’s church and neighborhood communities
come together by volunteering with Rocking Readers.
Now over 15 years old, this unique opportunity for volunteers
to help children develop a love of reading and have a special mentor
is still “rockin’ and readin’ ” within Minneapolis Public
Schools. Andrea
Witt has just been hired to coordinate Rocking Readers, coming
to PCYC from the corporate world.
She brings much enthusiasm and experience in volunteer
recruitment and management to the job, having run volunteer programs
at Ameriprise and for the Juneteenth Celebration.
Kathryn:
Lastly,
Kathryn Rosebear
is now onboard as PCYC’s new Director of Development.
Kathryn has over 25 years in development, most recently at
Freeport West, and is extremely skilled in working with foundations
and corporations, donors, and community members…not to mention
youth! PCYC is quite
fortunate to have such a “seasoned professional” working with
our donors and other stakeholders.
Kathryn is looking forward to meeting the many of the Friends
of PCYC in the coming months.
