Summer
Programs Expanded at PCYC for Kids and Families
PCYC
has expanded its summer program offerings this year to make sure
that children, youth and families can spend a safe and sound summer
together in their neighborhood. PCYC’s board has also launched a Summer 2005 mini-campaign to help
offset the expenses incurred by the program expansion.
Summer Friends is providing
enriching summer days for children ages 5 through 11 years with
academic, recreational, and social activities using the theme “The
World Is Our Community.” One-hundred
(100) children enrolled in this summer’s program.
Family Movies at the Capri
Theater gives families a safe, entertaining, and free activity each Saturday
afternoon at
3 PM
.
The
Theater Arts Program for Children is underway, bringing 40
neighborhood children ages 9 through 13 years together with talented
Twin Cities actors and performers, using creative arts as a tool for
growth and learning. The children will present what they have
learned in a performance for the community at The Capri Theater on
August 12.
Summer School at the
Alternative
High School
offered PCYC’s junior and senior high students a chance to catch
up and keep up academically. Adventure Learning Trips to Wilderness
Canoe Base gave
North Minneapolis
young people a chance to have an outdoors experience in the Boundary
Waters Canoe Area.
We
sorely need your financial contributions to support the costs of the
program expansion. Please
