Classical
Masterpieces Performed at Capri Theater
The
Capri Theater came alive with the sounds of classical music on
April 14, 2005
with a one-hour performance by cellist Evan
Drachman and pianist Richard
Dowling. It was
PCYC’s first time in presenting a concert of classical music at
The Capri Theater.
Pictured
above is cellist Drachman rehearsing shortly before the concert on
his grandfather’s Stradivarius cello.
The children, who sat in on the rehearsal, are participants
in PCYC’s Theater Arts Program for Children. They also served as
hosts and ushers to the concert audience members.
Plymouth
Christian
Youth
Center
and Metropolitan Alliance of Community Centers hosted the concert in
cooperation with The Piatigorsky Foundation of
New York City
. Drachman founded the foundation in memory of his grandfather,
cellist Gregor Piatigorsky.
