Plymouth Christian Youth Center has a long history of providing
academic and social programs for at-risk youth in North Minneapolis. As of
fall 2008 PCYC’s alternative school became PYC Arts and Technology High
School.
By adding a focus on arts and technology, PYC Arts & Technology
High School brings in renowned area artists, arts organizations and technology
professionals who provide hands-on afternoon workshops where students explore
and express their creativity, and explore potential career options.
As a contract
alternative high school with the Minneapolis Public Schools, we remain committed
to providing smaller classes to help students strengthen their skills in reading,
writing and math, by using music, art, and theater as learning tools.
PYC is
home to the Capri Theater, which is part of our campus on West Broadway and
Oliver Avenue North. For years arts and technology workshops have been made
available to our students thanks to artists across the Twin Cities providing
their expertise. As the Capri becomes a major venue serving our community,
more opportunities for our students in the fields of arts and technology will
grow. Now is an exciting time to become part of our academic community!
